Project Name: Amped

Project Information:

Concept + Scenerios
Project Amped is the integration of speakers into
snowboarding pants. Whether hiking the mountain,
hitting the pipe or park, waiting the lift...jam to
you favorite tunes - without the use of headphone! Not
only can your buddies rock on too, but you can fully
experience you're surroundings. You know you love the
sound of your deck carving fresh powder, or the stoked
landing from that perfect hit. So get Amped1

Design (design accomodates what I have access to and
with what knowledge I have on the subject)
Amped pants are designed to be functional, clean
and simple. Portable speakers are contained in cargo
pockets. Wires run up inside front pockets to connect
to miniature amplifier. The amp then connects to
portable audio player (CD/mp3/MD) inside jacket.
Speakers are on pants, at side thigh, where less
chance of falling on can occur. Speakers are on pants
rather than jacket to ommit noise near head and create
ambiance, and also to decrease top heaviness.

Technical Features
1) Speaker compartment
-9 3/4"L x 1 1/4"W (w/o padding)
-waterproof sealed seams
-velcro closure flap to keep snow out
-mesh-faced pocket
-speaker adapter hangs free for use in pocket
and for portability of speaker
-light interior padding at back
2) Amplifier and Amp Pocket
-Belt loop with pocket on front; belt can slip

behind
-extra jack for external speaker,etc
-amp's portability allows for numerous uses,
for example, laptops, in addition wash/care is

possible

Main Idea
Thinking ahead: (when possibilities are
opportune)
2 flexible flat speakers that zipper off and

can be replaced with zip on cargo pockets.
Speakers transmit to one another wirelessly.
Speaker with processor will interact with
woven in wires that relay and ascend to the
destination of an adapter at pant waist...
at which it would connect to your portable
audio player in jacket.

Research

The basic idea of my project is:
Create a product that is biologically sound, and convenient for travel.
The product should be biodegradable, or have the ability to decompose, so as not to add to the waste that we as humans create......
Because it is disposable, space will be created in our bags for other objects. Undergarments are only used once before they need to be washed, why should we lug around dirty laundry?
The undergarments should act like an extension of the body, a second skin that can be shed, like a snake's.

the best of what I have found for a fabrication:

(this is super interesting because the material can be disposed by being flushed down the toilet and is impermeable to body fluids)

then there is the biodegradable polymer, which has just been developed.

the design Tex fabric claims to be the only 100% biodegradable fabric
at www.climatex.com

then there is also the embroidery backing paper that has all the qualities i need, except the stability...
